Each year in July Learning South Leicestershire SSP holds a School Sport Celebration Event. The aim of the event is to celebrate the achievements of young people, school staff, community sports clubs , sports coaches, leaders and volunteers in sport. We would like to promote the successes of individuals and teams, partnerships between school and community sport, leadership by young people, and innovation in getting young people involved in physical activity.

We receive more than 100 nominations for the awards each year and the shortlisted nominees should feel very proud of all their achievements. All nominees are put through to Local Sports Alliance Awards that take place each autumn in Blaby, Harborough and Oadby & Wigston Districts. In turn, the winners from these events go through to the Leicester Mercury Sports Awards.
