MOVE IT MARCH 2024!
Move It March is back for 2024! The challenge is supported by Choose How You Move, Active Together and Leicestershire County Council.
The “Move It March” project aims to encourage children and young people across South Leicestershire to become more physically active and increase the number of children achieving the recommended guidelines of at least 60 minutes of exercise every day. Being physically active has many benefits for your child; it helps keep them fit and healthy, can increase concentration levels in class, can support mental wellbeing and promotes healthy lifelong behaviours.
The challenge will run from Monday 26th Feb to Friday 22nd March. Children will be given an Activity Tracker where they can colour an icon to show each 15 minutes of activity completed. Activities may be walking, running, virtual workouts, PE lessons or any exercise that requires physical exertion. There are 67 icons to complete in total and the following milestones and points will be rewarded, contributing to their class and schools Move It March score:
250 minutes – Bronze Award = 1 point
500 minutes- Silver Award = 2 points
750 minutes- Gold Award = 3 points
1000 minutes- Platinum Award= 5 points
Virtual certificates will be awarded to children achieving the milestones. If children achieve Platinum they will be entered into a prize draw! A trophy will be awarded to the most active class in participating schools.
