Active Travel

Active Travel aims to increase the number of children travelling to school by walking, cycling and scooting. Actively travelling to school has many benefits for your students. It helps keep them fit and healthy, can increase concentration levels in class, helps to develop road safety skills and above all is fun! PLUS! Reducing the number of cars around the school will also help to make the area quieter, safer and less congested.

For this initiative, all pupils at your school can participate!

Big Moves Staff CPD

This 3-hour CPD will provide delegates with an understanding of the Big Moves programme, the theory behind fundamental movement development and how the programme can be implemented within school.

The session will be mainly practical, giving delegates the opportunity to explore the Big Moves movements, complete the movement assessment and consider how to use the programme effectively with children in school.

Delegates will also receive the Big Moves materials and resources electronically following the session, providing everything needed to support delivery in school.

A few things to note:

– Parking: Car parking at the school is very limited, so please park on the surrounding streets and walk into the school.
– Lunch: There will be a short comfort break during the afternoon, but there will not be sufficient time for a lunch break. Please ensure you eat before attending and bring a drink with you.
– School premises: Please bring your school staff lanyard/ID with you as you will be attending a school site.
– Clothing: As the CPD is predominantly practical, please wear comfortable clothing and suitable footwear that you can move freely in.
