Active Travel

Active Travel aims to increase the number of children travelling to school by walking, cycling and scooting. Actively travelling to school has many benefits for your students. It helps keep them fit and healthy, can increase concentration levels in class, helps to develop road safety skills and above all is fun! PLUS! Reducing the number of cars around the school will also help to make the area quieter, safer and less congested.

For this initiative, all pupils at your school can participate!

We would like to invite you to select 2 members of staff to become Staff Well-being Ambassadors for your school.  A Well-being Ambassadors training conference will take place Friday 2nd February 9am-12pm at Thomas Estley Community College.

The Staff Well-being Ambassadors is an initiative led by the South Leicestershire School Sports Partnership.

At the conference staff will be trained in their role as a Well-Being Ambassador – to promote health and physical activity with their colleagues. During the conference, the attendees will participate in mental health and physical activity training. This year the training will be different and is designed to support established or new Staff Well-being Ambassadors. By the end of the conference the ambassadors will have developed an action plan to support staff well-being in school.
