Leicester-Shire and Rutland Sport are currently supporting the Education Business Partnership to recruit young people to the National Citizen Service (NCS) this Summer.
NCS is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that helps young people build skills for work and life, while taking on new challenges and meeting new friends. Current Year 11 and 12 students and 16 and 17 year olds not in education are eligible to take part in the 4 week programme this summer and develop the tools and belief to unlock their potential and make a positive impact in their communities.
There are 4 start dates and each course will last for 4 weeks:
• 7th July 2014
• 14th July 2014
• 28th July 2014 (delivered by Leicester Tigers)
• 4th August 2014
The first 2 weeks will involve a residential at an outdoor activity centre and a skills development residential. The second 2 weeks involve young people working in groups to plan and deliver a local social action project. The total cost of the course is £35 per person.
