The ‘Celebration of our Sporting Workforce’ aims to recognise, celebrate and award our clubs, coaches, officials, volunteers and young leaders, who work tirelessly to develop opportunities for people to participate and compete in sport. The evening is being coordinated by Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS) and hosted by the Chairman of Leicestershire County Council.
The evening will see the launch of Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport’s (LRS) new ‘Elite Sports Leadership Academy’ and ‘GO GOLD Funding Programme’ and recognise some of the achievements of our local community sports clubs.
Nominations are welcomed for the following prestigious historical sports awards, from but not exclusively, Community Sports Clubs, County Sports Associations, School Sports Associations, School Sport & Physical Activity Networks (SSPANs), Local Authorities/Local Sport Alliances;
‘The Stuart Lindeman Award’
For Contribution to Sport Under 21.
‘The Alan Kind Award’
For Contribution to Sport Over 21.
‘The John Buckingham Award
For Developing County Sports Associations, Community Sport Clubs and School Sport Association
‘The Peter Walker Memorial Award’
For Unsung Hero.
