Congratulations to Badgerbrook Primary, Kibworth High School and Thomas Estley Community College. All three have reached national finals in competitions run by the English Schools F.A.
First came Badgerbrook’s under 11s in the Danone competition. The regional finals were played at Nottingham University, where twelve teams took part – each team was already County Champion from its respective Association. A busy afternoon of matches saw Badgerbrook win the final by one goal to nil.
The u14 girls from Kibworth High School took the honours after a thrilling semi final played at Leicester University’s Manor Road ground. With the scores level after normal playing time and extra time, the match had to be decided by taking penalty kicks. The Kibworth girls came out on top by five goals to four. What a nail biter!
The Thomas Estley u13 girls had a long journey to Somerset to play their semi final of the ESFA PlayStation Cup. The girls returned home delighted with a 3-1 victory.
Badgerbrook now take part in the Danone Final at Aston Villa in May, whilst Kibworth and Thomas Estley travel to Reading FC for their respective PlayStation Cup finals, also in May.
