The School Games Mark 2015-16 application window is now open.
The School Games Mark is a fantastic way to recognise all of the hard work your school is putting into PE & school sport. We would like to encourage as many of our South Leicestershire schools as possible to achieve the Mark this year – we know that many of you have put lots of hard work in all year – all you need to do now is complete the application! 1000s of schools achieved the Mark across the country last year.
The application window for 2015/16 is open until Wednesday 28 September.

What is the School Games Mark?
The School Games Mark is a Government led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. Schools in England are able to assess themselves across bronze, silver and gold levels.
The Mark is a retrospective award which will validate your success over the ongoing academic year.
All registered schools are able to apply for the Mark. Further information is available via the school dashboard, the customised content portal for all schools logged in to the website.
Why should our school apply?
– OfSTED can use the Mark award as part of their inspection framework
– You can proudly display your certificate, pennant and plaque (Gold level only) at your school
– You can use it as a development tool to aid the PE teacher or Headteacher as your school
– You can add the logo to letterheads and email signatures to show your outstanding commitment to school sport
– New for 2016 – you can download your official Mark certificate as soon as your application has been verified, ready to be printed and displayed proudly at your school

If you would like any support completing the application, please let us know and we will be happy to come out to your school or talk you through things over the phone.
Don’t forget that you can include any competitive sports that are listed on the Your School Games website that your school takes part in, and not just the sports delivered by us at our events locally. You can also include your Sporting Ambassadors as your School Games Organising Crew – most schools in South Leicestershire have taken part in this initiative this year.
