Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport (LRS) is recruiting students from years 10-12 to join the ELITE Sports Leadership Academy. The Academy aims to identify and bring together the most talented and committed young leaders from across Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland to develop, enhance and refine their skills by working alongside other young people and sports professionals. The ELITE Sports Leadership Academy will incorporate a County Young Coaches Academy, a County Young Officials Academy and a County Event Volunteering Academy.
Selected young leaders will be able to develop their personal resume by accessing support and training related to coaching, officiating and/or event volunteering. They will also be the workforce for the School Games Championships and act as role models and ambassadors back in their own schools/colleges and local Leadership Academies.
Selection for the ELITE Sports Leadership Academy will also provide access to additional opportunities provided by other organisations e.g. Youth Sport Trust and National Governing Bodies of Sport. The Academy is looking for young people who have already demonstrated their talent and commitment as a sports leader and are now looking to push themselves further to realise their sporting potential either as a coach, official or event manager.
